What Is Counting Backwards?

  • Counting backwards is when we say numbers from the biggest to the smallest.
  • It is like going down a flight of stairs or watching a clock go the other way.
  • Instead of adding more, we take one away each time we say a new number.

How to Count Backwards from 10

  • We start at the number 10 and go down to the number 1.
  • The order is: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... and then Zero!
  • This is often called a "Countdown," and it is very exciting to do.

The Rocket Blast Off

  • We use backward counting to start big engines or launch rockets into space.
